Van Atta High Bio

van-atta-highVan Atta High, the New Jersey-based pop/rock band recently released a new EP, Doin’ Somethin’ Right (Thriving Records) on March 10. Forming in 2006, Van Atta High is named after the junior high school featured on the television show, Full House. The band includes Steve Kellner (vocals), Stephen Jasko (guitar/backing vocals), Clark Starace (bass), Justin Maikisch (guitar), and Glenn Petnel (drums).

Doin’ Somethin’ Right is the follow up to their self-released EP’s, We Are Captivated (2006) and Run Like Hell (2007). The nine-song EP includes new tracks such as “”Birthday Girl,” “Doin’ Somethin’ Right, “Shakin’ In My Shoes,” and others. Additionally, the band cover the Starland Vocal Band’s hit song, “Afternoon Delight,” giving it a full-on power-pop treatment.

After developing a core fan-base in New Jersey, Van Atta High was invited to perform select dates on several high profile tours such as the Vans Warped Tour in 2007 and 2008, the Taste of Chaos tour in 2007, and Bamboozle in 2008. In support of the new release, the band are currently performing in the New Jersey and New York area with touring planned throughout the spring and summer.
