Brian Anthony: A Product of Technology
So, you may be wondering…who’s Brian Anthony? Is he just another cookie cutter pop star that’s commercially produced from some music mogul?
The answer: Not even close.
San Francisco native, Brian Anthony is much more than a clone. He’s not backed by any huge label, but he is on the cutting edge of technology. With one of the first artists to release a reality show via mobile phones, Brian Anthony is a product of the new millennium way.
But he’s not just a product. Brian is a true artist–he sings, writes, produces and supports good causes. His self-penned song “Champion” was the anthem for the 2005 Special Olympics and he has since been working with them. “The Special Olympics experience has been great,” Brian says. ”It’s really inspiring to me to perform for these really great atheletes, who take on a lot more in their lives than I ever will. So they inspire me to keep on, keeping on. They’re really fun and it’s really cool.”
Other songs of Brian’s have been used for movies like his track “Come And Get It” for 20th Century Fox’s “Garfield 2: Tail of Two Kitties”, which became an international hit as well as “Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer”. More recently, Brian’s song “Worked Up!” is featured in “Dragonball Evolution” allowing him to make his first big music video.
“There was over 60 people in my crew,” Brian described the experience. “Just seeing all these machines and cameras and people everywhere–it’s just really cool having all these creative and talented people come together in one place–for me!”
Coming this summer, Brian’s song “Electricity” (my personal favorite) will be featured in the new Ashley Tisdale movie, “Aliens In The Attic”. Although no release date is set yet, Brian Anthony’s album Bionic is sure to pack lots of upbeat dance numbers mixing pop, hip-hop and “’80s flare”. Thanks to Fox Mobile/Jamster, Brian has a unique opportunity to be a pioneer with one of the first mobile phone reality shows called “Becoming: Brian”. “They’re three to five minute episodes depending…it’s the first of its kind really,” Brian explains. “I love anything to do with new technology. You type in your text2 code and it downloads it free to your phone. It’s really exciting.”
So, what’s the show about?
“My crazy life!” Brian laughs. “For the past seven years, I’ve had a camera in my face in one way or another. I have so much footage. I just realized when I looked back at this footage, my life was so crazy and awesome. Sometimes when I go through these experiences, I wonder if anyone will ever believe me because they’re so almost super unreal to me. I’m like, ‘what am I doing here’? It’s hard work. I just wanted to show people little tidbits in my life. I just want people to know I’m a regular guy and I’ve got a weird job. I want people to be inspired by who am I as an artist. I want people to know by my example that you can do anything you want in life if you really try.”
Besides wanting to inspire people, Brian had more to say to his fans and the ones in his future.
“I really am so excited about everything I’ve been doing. I would not be continually releasing singles if it wasn’t for them. So I just want to say thank you. Thank you for following me on Twitter and thank you for going to my Facebook page…and going to iTunes and going to Jamster and buying the videotones and ringtones. It’s a tricky business, so that kind of support just makes me feel like I’m totally doing something right. For future fans, take a listen and I hope they like it.”
